Qutb Minar, Delhi
Qutb Minar, "axis minaret", was built in 1199AD by Qutb-ud-din-Aiibek, the first sultan of the Muslim Slave Dynasty that ruled Delhi for over three centuries.
The minaret is 73m high, has a 14.4m base diameter, tapering to 2.7m at the top. It is the centre of the Qutb Minar complex that was the 4th city of Delhi.
