Corbett National Park is nestled in the Shivalik foothills under the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas.
The area around Corbett is famous for it's plentiful and often rare species of birds. On one bird-watching expedition amongst the numerous kingfishers, orioles, shrikes, bulbuls, eagles, snipes, terns and cuckoos we saw was a sighting of a lammergeier - an immense and rare bird of prey, soaring over the spectacular Nanda Kot peaks.
