Kanha is the epicentre of the rich central highlands of the Deccan peninsula. Despite recent poaching activities tiger numbers are good at Kanha, and the rare barasingha deer has also bred well here under strict protection. The park is extremely well run and the fauna and flora varied and interesting. There is a watch tower on the edge of the lake in the photo above - an ideal place to spot wild life.
