Rahba Kedima, Marrakesh
The apothecary stalls in the ramshackle square of Rahba Kedima sell every kind od traditional cosmetic and medicine. The shop in the photograph had thousands of bottles containing dired pieces of animals such as lizards, broken egg shells, roots of obscure plants and ground powders of "unknown origin". Hanging under the awning were a variety of dried animal carcases, talons, gazelle horns and some interesting plants.
