Portuguese Cistern
Beneath the old Portuguese town of El Jadida is a subterranean vault showing the consumate skills of the Portuguese engineers who built it in the 16th century.
A thin film of water covering the floor reflects the pillars and vaulted roof of the cistern. The effect is remarkable and beautiful.
